Fikes Truck Line and FTL Donate Trailer to Support Fundraising and Trucker’s Health
Louisville, KY ... Fikes Truck Line and its sister company, FTL Logistics donated a van trailer to Corporal Norm Schneiderhan and his group of volunteer truckers who are dedicated to helping others. The trailer was unveiled in the Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium Parking Lot and will be used to transport cooking equipment for benefit meals, including the lunch hosted during the MidAmerica Truck Show (MATS). Fikes and FTL are also covering expenses for the brats and soft drinks so that lunch donations can directly support two charitable causes focused on driver’s health. This year’s proceeds will benefit the St. Christopher’s Fund (www.truckersfund.com) and the Medical Resource Vehicle (MeRV), a mobile health education and screening unit (www.safetyfirstsleepsolutions.com/themerv.htm).
“The trailer is a gift that will keep on giving,” says Schneiderhan, a lifelong law enforcement officer and the impetus behind charitable events such as the World’s Largest Truck Convoy for Special Olympics, “After MATS, it will travel to the Great American Truck Show in Dallas, the Charlotte Motor Speedway and other places where truckers gather for good.”
“We want to do our part,” adds Max Campbell, Director of Fikes Recruiting, “Over the years, we’ve watched this group of caring truckers do incredible things to help others. Our trailer donation will help them continue that work for years to come.”
